Lexical-Functional Grammar Conference

The meeting point for all the social events is at the front entrance of the main building of the university.

Pre-conference events

  10:30-14:30: You can choose between the following two parallel activities.

  • Sightseeing in Debrecen
  • Please join us for a short sightseeing in the downtown of Debrecen. Explore the most important sights with us ranging from the Great Church to the most outstanding monuments of the city. For more information about Debrecen, visit http://eng.debrecen.hu.

    At the end of the tour you can choose to have a light lunch at a cosy local restaurant.

    The entrance fees will be free of charge for the conference participants, but everybody will have to pay for their own lunch on the spot.

  • Bicycle tour around Debrecen
  • You are encouraged to participate in our bicycle tour around Debrecen. We will provide you with bicycles for free. For technical reasons a maximum of 10 people can join this trip.


Wine tasting and dinner in Tokaj wine region

We kindly invite you to a wine tasting and a hearty dinner at Pataky Borporta (http://www.patakyborporta.hu/kep.htm), a wine cellar located in the beautiful wine region of Tokaj, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will have a four-course dinner, including a starter, a soup, a vegetarian or non-vegetarian main course and a dessert.cellar_pic

Conference dinner at Paripa Restaurant

We will have a hearty three-course dinner at a local restaurant (http://www.paripacsarda.hu). You are kindly asked to select a dish for each course of your meal on the registration form.

Visit to the Hungarian puszta

The famous Hungarian puszta constitutes part of the Hortobágy National Park, and is a World Heritage Site. You will have the opportunity to explore the countryside naturally, participating in birdwatching and having a look at some typically Hungarian species. We will have a traditional lunch at one of the local inns (http://www.hortobagy.eu/en/idegenforgalom/hortobagyi-csarda).

Apart from the lunch, the trip will be free of charge for conference participants.

Please note that if you want to attend our social events, you are kindly requested to sign up by 10 July, 2013 at the latest.
